I came to Rotorua for volunteering work and due to the location and facilities I chose Haka House. I stayed in a mixed 4-bed dorm, the bead were super comfortable and well designed so you would get enough privacy. Also the room had two lockers to store big luggage as well as smaller valuables, which was really useful. You have to bring your own lock tho! The bathroom was spacious and clean. The common area and kitchen was well designed and perfect to fit a lot of people, so it was easy to store food in cabinets and the fridge. Outside, there even was a freezer provided! Around the corner were some bus stops to get you around as well as restaurants and some shops. I would definitely stay again in the hostel.

Loved that it was right in town, modern facilities, check in was quick, no bond required, shared kitchen was well equipped, outside dining area was relaxing, showers had good pressure beds were comfy and private, I had a bunk bed in a 2 dorm with private bathroom, had curtains to pull across for privacy, lamp shelves and plugs in your sleeping area. Provided with sheeting, toilet paper, shower wash, had wash and dry facilities for laundry, provided sheets and blanket and pillow. Be good to have an extra throw for added warmth as no heating in rooms.

Lovely having a bed with lockable storage and curtain over bed + own light for 1 night stay on transit. Bottom sheet and duvet and pillow included. The person on the top bunk bed was quiet - sleeping! :) Only 1 bunk bed and a bathroom included with an early booking -was a great price and meeting others (travelers) in the kitchen- hearing their stories. :) Awesome! Buying a towel for only $2. Lots of room - floor room. Food places in walking distance and Rotorua Lake, Library, Thermal garden and Botanical garden too.

Erica

The room was a cozy size but really liked that the bed had a curtain by the bed to have some privacy in the dorm room and some power sockets yo charge my phone/computer. The common room was really spacious and had plenty of space for you to enjoy with others or by yourself. Also, the hostel Is right in the heart of the city so it’s a perfect location to everything!

Yaniv

Large comfortable bed, great bathroom with excellent shower, small fridge, TV, good hanging space for clothes, good parking outside - paid sometimes, but usually when you're away doing tourist stuff anyway. Stayed 3 days and 3 nights and parking cost $1. Reminded us of Ibis of a few years ago, just what you need and nothing more, at great price.
